Vikings cornerback Cedric Griffin offered an apology in the locker room today after pleading guilty to drunken driving on Wednesday.
Griffin was arrested on Aug. 30. in Eden Prairie after he pulled his car over to the side of Hwy. 5 because he didn't feel it was safe to continue to drive. Police officers found him inside his car and arrested him.
"I'm apologetic and I'm sorry about what happened," Griffin said. "I'm just trying to help my team win and continue to move forward from that incident."
Griffin said he apologized to his teammates a month ago.
"Everything is cleared up from that and I'm just moving forward," he said.
Griffin paid a $300 fine and must perform two days of community service on a work squad. Asked if he's concerned about receiving any additional punishment from the league, Griffin said, "I'm just really helping my team win and we're off to a 4-0 start. Everyone is feeling confident around here and we'll continue to go with that."
