Vikings defensive end Everson Griffen missed practice today because of a stomach virus, coach Leslie Frazier said after practice.

"I think it's just a 24-hour virus," Frazier said. "So he should be good to go tomorrow."

Frazier also ruled tight end John Carlson (knee) out of Friday's preseason game. Carlson has been out since the first week of camp.

"We'll hopefully get him some practice next week, but he isn't going to make it for this ballgame," Frazier said.

Meanwhile, safety Robert Blanton (hamstring) and Jordan Todman (ankle) continue to improve. Frazier said the rookie Blanton "has a chance" of playing in his first preseason game on Friday.

And as we said earlier, nose tackle Letroy Guion (knee) and tight end Kyle Rudolph (concussion) returned to practice. Cornerback Chris Cook (concussion) was held out again today.
