Green Hornet Movie Delayed in the Hopes You'll Forget it Ever Existed

That's Seth Rogen over on the right, with a Green Hornet mask I photoshopped on his mug. Really brings that Hornet feel in buckets, doesn't it? No. Geeks were unhappy when he was cast as the crusading newspaperman, and now we learn that "Green Hornet" will now stink in three dimensions, instead of two:

Yes, of course. That's the reason. They have such faith in the film they want to release it after the holiday movie season, where lousy ideas go to dig their own graves. A few days ago, io9 passed along this from iesb.com:

According to the Hollywood Reporter, Sony said the director always planned it to be released in 3D, although he hasn't shot any 3D stuff yet. I don't know if this means they have to reshoot, and make everyone make spastic thrusting gestures into the camera, or have a climactic battle with yo-yos. But if Sony thought Gondry and Rogen wouldn't give them a movie that makes "La Cage au Folles" look like "Batman Begins," they need to pay closer attention.
