There are no national names like past participants Guided by Voices, Free Energy or the Hold Steady, but the just-announced lineup for this year's Grand Old Day fest -- Sunday, June 5, on St. Paul's Grand Avenue -- nonetheless looks like a fun afternoon of local music. Heiruspecs, Dead Man Winter (led by Trampled by Turtles' Dave Simonett), this year's boys-of-summer the 4onthefloor, Chris Koza, Communist Daughter, Phantom Tails, G.B. Leighton, the White Iron Band, Hookers & Blow and more are all set to perform. Among the new attractions this year will be a family fun stage at Whole Foods and a battle of the bands put on by McNally Smith College of Music. Here's the breakdown of the other music lineups:

Dixie's on Grand stage: Heiruspecs, Dead Man Winter, the 4onthefloor and "Grand Idol" winner

Wild Onion stage: G.B. Leighton and White Iron Band

City Pages stage at Pier 1 Imports (because nothing says "alt-weekly newspaper" like Pier 1): Phantom Tails, Mayda and No Bird Sing.

Gimme Noise stage at Walgreen's: Chris Koza, Communist Daughter and the Arms Akimbo

Billy's on Grand stage: Hookers & Blow and one act TBA

Grand Ave Business Association Stage at U.S. Bank: Country acts Tim Sigler, House of Cash (as in Johnny) and Chris Brooks & the Silver Boys

As an eviction crisis has seemed increasingly likely this summer, everyone in the housing market has made the same plea to Washington: Send money — lots of it — that would keep renters in their homes and landlords afloat.
