MADISON, Wis. — Gov. Scott Walker's approval ratings have dropped below 50 percent based on a new poll.
The Marquette University Law School poll released on Tuesday shows that 48 percent of respondents approve of the job Walker is doing in his third year in office, compared with 46 percent who disapprove.
That's down from May, when his approval rating was 51 percent.
However, the shift is within the poll's margin of error which is 3.7 percentage points.
Walker's approval rating has hovered around 50 percent since the June 2012 recall election that he won.
Similarly, President Barack Obama's approval rating dropped from 50 percent in May to 47 percent in the latest poll.
The poll interviewed 713 registered votes between July 15 and Thursday.
