Gov. Dayton vetoes higher education bill, others

In veto letter, Dayton calls the GOP-proposed cuts "far too extreme."

Gov. Mark Dayton vetoed nine GOP state finance bills Tuesday -- including the higher education bill.

In his letter to legislators, he said that proposed cuts to higher ed "are far too extreme."

Dayton goes on to criticize the tuition limits included in the bill, as well as the language that would limit human cloning, which he said is "vague and could threaten further development of stem cell research."
