The I-35W bridge over the Mississippi River in downtown Minneapolis will glow purple Friday through Sunday night by orders from Gov. Mark Dayton.

That's to root on the hometown Vikings as they travel to Philadelphia to face the Eagles at 5:40 p.m. Sunday for the NFC championship. The winner of the game will advance to the Super Bowl at U.S. Bank Stadium on Feb. 4.

"Congratulations to the Minnesota Vikings on their sensational win last Sunday!" Dayton said. "Vikings fans everywhere are excited to cheer our team to victory in the NFC Championship Game this Sunday. SKOL!"

In a side note, Dayton has a friendly bet Pennsylvania with Gov. Tom Wolf. Dayton will send Wolf a 5-pound Pearson's Salted Nut Roll if the Eagles win. If the Vikings win, Dayton will get five pounds of Tastykake Butterscotch Krimpets.
