Gophers senior offensive tackle Ed Olson won't play in Saturday's game at New Mexico State, according to the team's injury report, which was released tonight.

Olson, who was on the second team, behind Marek Lenkiewicz, for last week's opener has been trying to come back from major ankle surgery. All injuries are unspecified on the Gophers' weekly report.

With Olson out, the Gophers now have two redshirt freshmen listed as second-team offensive tackles -- Jonah Pirsig and Ben Lauer, with Lenkiewicz and Josh Campion still holding down the starting roles.

Also out for the Gophers are RB Berkley Edwards, LB Nick Rallis and TE Alex Bisch. RB Donnell Kirkwood is listed as questionable, but it's highly unlikely he'll play on his sprained ankle.

Derrick Wells is back from his hamstring and shoulder injuries, but he's listed as a second-team cornerback behind Eric Murray and Briean Boddy-Calhoun.

Here's a link to the latest two-deep roster and injury report.

Fernando Mendoza lowered his pads into a defender, spun in a full circle, used his hand to keep his balance, then launched himself horizontally and reached the ball over the goal line — an Indiana touchdown and a ready-made poster pic for a title run straight from the movies.
