Gophers heavyweight Gable Steveson racked up five technical falls on the way to the gold medal at the Senior Pan American championships in Guatemala City.
Steveson's run included one 18-second tech fall and a pair of 10-0 wins over silver medalist Aly Barghout of Canada.

• Jake Porter's infield hit in the ninth gave St. Thomas a 4-3 walkoff win over Chapman and a spot in the championship round of the NCAA Division III baseball regional in Collegeville, Minn. Chapman had tied it with three runs in the top of the ninth.
• MSU State Mankato was eliminated from the NCAA Division II tournament with its second loss in as many days to ffith-seeded Southern Arkansas, 5-1 in Warrensburg, Mo.
• The Gophers baseball team (6-31) split a season-ending doubleheader with Purdue, winning 6-1 and losing 7-6 in West Lafatette, Ind. Second baseman Zack Raabe, who had a home run in the Gophers' Game 1 victory, later was named all-Big Ten second team as the conference announced its award winners. Nebraska had three honorees: Spencer Schwellenbach (player of the year), Max Anderson (freshman of the year) and Will Bolt (coach of the year).
