Individual Gophers continue to break out of scoring droughts.
Hudson Fasching broke an 11-game goal-less streak with a power-play goal in the second period of Friday night's 4-1 victory over St. Cloud State.
The first-line freshman forward hadn't scored a goal since Nov. 16 against Minnesota State. He scored six goals in the first 10 games of his collegiate career before falling into a drought.
"We talked about how our team goes through different guys going through droughts, so it's good to see Hudson get a goal," Gophers coach Don Lucia said. "He hasn't scored a goal in a while."
The goal was off a rebound of Travis Boyd's slap shot. Fasching pushed in the loose puck while falling backward for a 3-1 lead.
Fasching also assisted a power-play goal in the first period. It's his fourth two-point night of the season, the last also coming on Nov. 16.

• Michael Brodzinski wasn't able to keep his brother from scoring, but he will enjoy pestering Jonny Brodzinski about the Gophers' victory over the Huskies.
