A 19-year-old has been killed in a gun accident in his goose-hunting party, the Renville County Sheriff's Office said Saturday.

A 911 call had come into the Renville County Sheriff's Office-Dispatch at 9:43 a.m., reporting that someone in a hunting party had been shot.

A half mile north of Danube, Minn., in Troy Township, emergency responders found the young man dead of a single gunshot wound. His name wasn't being released Saturday, pending notification of relatives.

A group of hunters had been hunting geese together when one of the hunter's guns accidentally discharged, with the shot striking the victim, said Renville County Sheriff Scott Hable. No one else was injured, he said, and the investigation continues.
