A game a day brings Santa your way.

"Developer elves" at Google have launched a digital advent calendar of sorts, releasing a little game each day in a countdown to Christmas in Santa's Village. It's part of the Google Santa Tracker feature/app, which they say tracks the Jolly Old Elf on his holiday journey around the world. Ho, ho, ho!

But mostly it's a daily treat in the form of relatively easy online fun. Guide elves wearing jetpacks as they zoom through the air, drop candies through a tilting puzzle, learn about holiday traditions around the world. You get the idea.

"The elves have a busy month ahead of them -- the reindeers need training and the presents need packing," according to a Google blog post about Santa Tracker. "They're studying up on Santa's upcoming stops with candy cane cartography, holiday tradition tests, and even jolly JavaScript courses."

Sounds like a good diversion between bouts of online shopping.
