Sorenstam trails by 2 in Swedish farewell Annika Sorenstam shot a 1-under-par 71 and trailed by two shots after leader Lill Saether tied the course record with a 64 Saturday in the rain-shortened Scandinavian TPC.

Saether birdied six of her first seven holes and totaled 9-under 135 after rain postponed second-round play Friday and shortened the tournament to 54 holes.

Maria Hjorth also shot a course-record 64 in a bogey-free round and shared second with Lora Fairclough (66), one stroke back. Tournament host Sorenstam, who is retiring in December, shared fourth with Johanna Head (70).

• Duke star Amanda Blumenherst and NCAA champion Azahara Munoz advanced to the U.S. Women's Amateur final at Eugene (Ore.) Country Club. Blumenherst, the three-time national college player of the year, beat Erynne Lee, 15, of Silverdale, Wash., 3 and 2. Munoz, the Arizona State star from Spain, edged compatriot Belen Mozo 4 and 3.

HORSE RACING

Spirit One wins Arlington Million French-based Spirit One won the 26th running of the Arlington Million, leading from start to finish for an upset victory over a field of seven turf horses.

Spirit Open, ridden by Spanish jockey Ioritz Mendizabal, turned back favored Archipenko by three-quarters of a length, finishing the 1¼-mile Grade I stakes in 2:02.17. Spirit One paid $29.40, $10.20 and $6 and earned an automatic starting berth in the Breeders' Cup Turf by winning the Arlington Million.

CYCLING

Armstrong second in mountain bike race Lance Armstrong finished second in the Leadville Trail 100 mountain bike race, pushing six-time champion Dave Wiens to a record time in Leadville, Colo.

It was Armstrong's first competitive bicycle race since winning his seventh consecutive Tour de France in 2005. Wiens took the lead from Armstrong in the country's highest-altitude bike race with 10 miles to go in the 100-mile race and finished 1 minute, 56 seconds ahead.

"At the end I realized I was thoroughly cooked, but I said, 'I am having a good time,'" Armstrong said. "I didn't expect to beat this guy so I just wanted to have something out there to shoot for, train for, stay in shape for and it was a blast. It really was."

• French cyclist Jimmy Casper tested positive for a banned steroid during the Tour de France, the head of the nation's anti-doping agency said in Paris. Casper did not have medical exemption for the use of steroids, according to Pierre Bordry.

NBA

Lakers agree to deal with Chinese guard The Los Angeles Lakers agreed to terms with guard Sun Yue, who is playing for China and will face Kobe Bryant and the U.S. men's team today in the Beijing Olympics. The 6-9, 212-pound Sun was the Lakers' second-round draft pick last year. Yue played for the Chinese national team before the Olympics.

Late goals lift Fire over Revolution Goals by Gonzalo Segares and Wilman Conde in the final 10 minutes led the Chicago Fire (7-5-5) to a 2-1 MLS victory over New England (10-5-3) on Saturday night in Foxborough, Mass.

• In Kansas City, Claudio Lopez and Davy Arnaud each had a goal and an assist as the Wizards (6-6-7) rolled to a 3-2 victory over Chivas USA (6-8-4). ... In Commerce City, Calif., Greg Sutton's 10 saves and Chad Barrett's unassisted goal in the 44th minute lifted Toronto FC (7-8-4) to a 1-0 victory over Colorado (6-10-3).
