Lefthander Glen Perkins recorded two strikeouts in a scoreless inning for Class AA Chattanooga on Monday, throwing 21 pitches in what might be his final rehab appearance before returning to the Twins.

Perkins recorded two outs Sunday and said last week that pitching in back-to-back games was "the final hurdle before I come back." The three-time All-Star, who underwent shoulder surgery more than 13 months ago, has not appeared in a game with the Twins since April 10, 2016.

On Sunday, Perkins gave up two runs, walked two batters and striking out one, while pitching two-thirds of an inning.

In seven minor league appearances since July 22, when Perkins started his rehab assignment with the Gulf Coast League Twins, Perkins has given up five earned runs on six hits and five walks while striking out 10 in 7 1/3 innings.

Rosario honored

Eddie Rosario scored a run in all seven Twins games last week, collected at least one hit in six of them, and drove in runs in five. For that kind of production, not to mention the four homers he crushed and the six wins he contributed to, Rosario was named the AL player of the week on Monday.

Rosario, 25, is the second Twin to be honored with the weekly award this season, following Miguel Sano's recognition in the final week of April. The left fielder leads the Twins with a .296 average and has piled up a career-high 16 homers plus 46 RBI.
