Former Falcons coach Jerry Glanville revisited his time spent with Brett Favre in Atlanta during the early 1990s during a recent guest spot on Thom Abraham's WNSR Radio in Nashville. He wasn't shy when it came to talking about Favre's personal life at the time and the reasons Favre was traded to the Packers after his rookie season in 1991.

"I had to get him out of Atlanta. . . . I could not sober him up," Glanville said. "I sent him to a city where at 9:00 at night the only thing that's open is Chili Joes. If I would have traded him to New York, nobody to this day would have known who Brett Favre ever was."

Two things:

1, While Favre's drinking habits from the early 1990s is well-documented, you have to wonder if old Jerry exaggerated a little bit to justify one of the dumbest trades ever.

2, Jerry obviously hasn't been to Wisconsin if he thought that would help a guy drink less.
