The 12 Hours of Giving event -- a one-day drive for the American Red Cross' North Central Region -- was held Monday at the Prom Center in Oakdale.
Donors were treated to free gift wrapping, a Red Cross T-shirt and gift bag, prize drawings and holiday entertainment and food.
Sue Thesenga, the organization's community program manager, said Monday night that they were "very close" to reaching their goal of 500 units of blood, needed to replenish supplies when many donors are traveling or busy with holiday activities.
