Girl, 6, dies after fall from ATV being operated by her mother in northern Minnesota

A 6-year-old girl died after a fall from an ATV her mother was driving on private land north of Blackduck, Minn., authorities said Tuesday.

The incident occurred about 4 p.m. Monday in Hines Township in the 20500 block of Nebish Road NE., according to the Beltrami County Sheriff's Office.

Authorities identified the girl as Skyla Nesvig, who was riding with her mother, Jennifer Nesvig, of Williston, N.D. The child died at the scene, officials said.
