Ernie Hudson is ready. Sigourney is reportedly ready. You know Aykroyd is ready, and Ramis would love another hit. So why is this so bloody difficult? Hollywood Reporter says:

It would be nice if they gave him a heads-up before the cameras rolled. Give him a chance to learn his lines. The reason there's no discernible motion on the project is Murray, who admitted in a recent interview that they sent him the script, but he hasn't read it. It's in a drawer somewhere.

Perhaps he's wondering whether the movie is necessary. The sequel showed it was difficult to recapture the spirit of the first one. I'm not saying it's necessary to act quickly while the characters are still fresh in the minds of the writers and actors, but it took five years to make the first sequel. And that was 22 years ago. Not to say #3 will be bad; it doesn't have to be bad. At a recent convention Bill Murray accepted an award in his old Ghostbusters uni, saying it was the only thing he had clean, and the entire audience nearly soiled themselves, because this is what they want to see:

It brings back happy memories, and we're all young again, and life is cool. That alone guarantees $400 million at the box office.
