After going through a light workout on Monday to get back in the swing of things, the Vikings will begin practicing today for their home opener Sunday against the Miami Dolphins.

Today's media access will provide the opportunity to talk to Brad Childress and Brett Favre -- think any questions about the state of the offense will come up? -- and we'll also hear from Dolphins coach Tony Sparano and running back Ricky Williams on the weekly conference calls.

Main injury storylines that we will be following include the status of cornerbacks Chris Cook and Cedric Griffin and running back Toby Gerhart. All are coming off knee injuries. The Vikings and Dolphins will issue their first injury reports late this afternoon so we'll start to see how much work guys were able to do in practice.

Check back throughout the day for updates and also give us a follow on Twitter at www.twitter.com/juddzulgad and www.twitter.com/chipscoggins.

One final note, it has been reported by our friend Brad Biggs at the Chicago Tribune that former Gopher Nate Triplett, a fifth-round pick of the Vikings who was cut and did not get invited to join the practice squad, was one of four linebackers to get a tryout out the Chicago Bears on Tuesday.

Update: The rain in the Twin Cities today means the Vikings will be holding their early afternoon practice inside.
