Help an Afghan family

Volunteers are needed to help Afghan families settle in Minnesota. Drop off new and almost-new household goods to help settle refugees in new homes on Feb. 5, 10 a.m.-1 p.m., CHS Field Broadway Gate Plaza. Donations also welcome via Amazon. Pack food

Join Feed My Starving Children for a food packing session in Chanhassen, Coon Rapids or Eagan. Meals are shipped to countries around the world. Two-hour shift. At each location, hours and days may differ. Minimum age is 5. COVID-safe procedures are in place. fmsc.org.

Shop for change

PRISM's Shop for Change Thrift Store provides funds for the basic needs programs, including the foodshelf and housing assistance programs. Sort and organize donations, stock shelves, cash register and cleanup duties. Golden Valley location. prismmpls.org.

Pack food boxes

Open Arms of Minnesota provides meals to those living with life-threatening conditions. Help assemble food boxes to be distributed across the state. Assemble, label and pack boxes for distribution. openarmsmn.org.

Help Neighborhood House in St. Paul to bag groceries, sort and organize donations, and stock shelves. Weekdays. neighb.org.

Warehouse help

Join the Bridging warehouse team. Monday through Saturday, generally 3-hour shift. Move furniture, bags and boxes and restock shelves. Load and unload vehicles. Lifting required. Must be 14 or older. Flexible scheduling. Bloomington and Roseville locations. bridging.org.

Avivo provides haircuts to clients across the metro area. 3 hours a month for 4 months. Must have active Minnesota license. avivomn.org.
