After taking out its own billboard denouncing the amendment to ban same-sex marriage and hosting a get-out-the-vote rally with U.S. Rep. Keith Ellison, First Avenue nightclub is offering a final election season gesture -- where you voted or not. Anyone can receive 2-for-1 tickets to tonight's 8 p.m. concert with monstrous, classic Texas metal band the Sword. The cult-adored Austin quartet was hand-picked to open some of Metallica's "Death Magnetic" tour and has been a favorite at festivals in recent years. They're a good election-night option no matter how the results go: pump your fists in celebration to the tune of their towering riffs, thrash your head in anger to their tank-attack rhythms, or blow off some steam whatever your slant. We all deserve that. Here's a little taste of what to expect.
