Gear alert: Cheap knife sharpener

July 11, 2012 at 1:08AM

The best cheap knife sharpener I've found lately is largely a piece of plastic made in China by "Smith's" (smithsproducts.com), headquartered in Hot Springs, Ark. Cost of the model I bought was about $9. Works great on fillet knives and is portable enough to throw in a tackle box. Smith's offers many other sharpeners, including a pocket-sized model for $9.99. Great gift for the fish cleaner.
