As Ryan Olson mentioned in the Gayngs "oral history" article, he and a pared-down configuration of the all-star band will hit the road in the fall. Their two-week outing -- which kicks off at Milwaukee's Turner Hall on Sept. 29 -- will also hit such cool venues as New York's Webster Hall and D.C.'s Black Cat and then finish big at the Austin City Limits Festival on Oct. 10. There's no Twin Cities date on the itinerary. Here's who's going to be on the tour: Ryan Olson, Michael Lewis (Happy Apple, Andrew Bird), Zach Coulter (Solid Gold), Adam Hurlburt (Solid Gold), Ivan Howard (the Rosebuds), Justin Vernon (Bon Iver), Mike Noyce (Bon Iver), Brad Cook (Megafaun), Joe Westerlund (Megafaun) and Jake Luck (Leisure Birds). I actually think this smaller configuration could be better than the mega-sized ensemble that played First Ave on Friday, or at least more cohesive and less glitchy. Still, the women are conspicuously missing.

Also, local blog LOL/OMG scored some cool pics of Prince backstage at First Ave watching Gayngs on Friday.
