Gauging ice fishing's popularity

No one knows how many of Minnesota's 1.6 million anglers fish in the winter, but the DNR sold 152,000 ice fishing house licenses last year, and few of those are occupied by just one angler. A good guess: 300,000 to 400,000 winter anglers.
