Motorists may experience delays on DeMontreville Trail N in Lake Elmo as crews complete reduced conflict intersection (J-turn) construction at DeMontreville Trail.

DeMontreville Trail at Hwy 36 is closed and drivers are advised to follow the posted detour of Highland Trail. The closure will be in effect until July 1.

Pedestrians and bicyclists will want to seek an alternate route as both directions of the Gateway State Trail tunnel beneath Highway 36 in Pine Springs close at 7 a.m. Monday.

The trail closure is necessary as crews complete utility work under the tunnel as part of the
Highway 36/Hilton Trail reconstruction project.

The work is scheduled to be completed by 7 a.m. July 2. There is no safe detour or alternate route we can recommend at this time.

Gateway State Trail is an 18-mile multi-use trail located between St. Paul and Washington County. The western portion of the trail runs through St. Paul, Maplewood, Pine Springs and North St Paul, passing through Phalen-Keller Regional Park
