After being retired for a number of years, country singer Garth Brooks got back into the swing of things Thursday at the Target Center in downtown Minneapolis, as he began a record-breaking string of concerts over two weeks. Brooks said his voice would not be what it was more than a decade ago when he last played the Twin Cities, but he expected to get lots of help singing from the tens of thousands of fans expected to attend the 11 shows this month.
