Prime time for a garden tour

With most gardens at their peak now, it's prime time to take in a garden tour. In the Twin Cities, the Victory neighborhood in north Minneapolis is hosting its free tour on Sunday. The tour starts at 1 p.m. with a free welcome barbecue at the butterfly gardens of Loring Elementary School, 2600 44th Av. N. A half-dozen private gardens will be open for self-guided tours from 1 to 4 p.m. For more information, call 612-529-9558.

Also on Sunday, the Waseca Garden Club is hosting free self-guided tours of seven gardens in Waseca, Minn. Tour hours are 1 to 5 p.m. Maps will be available at 315 2nd Av. NE. For more information, call 1-507-835-5204.
