Preview: The Wild, coming off a 3-2 loss in St. Louis, is 13-0-2 (one of which is a tie) in its first home game of the season. The Jets won four of five from the Wild last season. They roared back from a 4-1 third-period deficit to beat Carolina 5-4 in overtime in their season opener. The Jets, 4-1-1 in their past six against the Wild, are 10-4-2 against Minnesota since moving from Atlanta to Winnipeg.

Players to watch: Jets rookie Patrik Laine, drafted second overall in June after Winnipeg won the NHL lottery, scored a goal and assisted on the tying goal in his NHL debut. Former Gopher Blake Wheeler is Winnipeg's new captain. He scored a career-high 78 points last season. Wild G Devan Dubnyk is expected to play his 300th career game. Since his first game with the Wild on Jan. 15, 2015, he is 59-36-8 with a 2.13 goals-against average, .924 save percentage and 10 shutouts. LW Zach Parise is one goal shy of 300.

Numbers: Wheeler enters on a six-game point streak (four goals, eight assists) against the Wild and has 15 points (seven goals) in 17 games as a member of the Jets against the Wild. In 30 games, fellow Minnesotan Dustin Byfuglien has posted seven goals and 17 assists and is plus-15 against the Wild, including four multipoint games in Minnesota.

Injuries: Jets C Bryan Little (lower body) is out.
