Preview: Off since defeating St. Louis on Saturday, the Wild opens a three-game trip that also takes it to Los Angeles and Anaheim. The Wild is 1-0 on the road and has won seven of its past nine in Glendale. The Coyotes, playing a fast brand of hockey, opened the season with wins against Los Angeles and Pittsburgh before playing in Anaheim on Wednesday night.
Players to watch: G Devan Dubnyk will make his first start in Arizona since the Coyotes traded him to the Wild in January. In 15 games (13 starts) in Glendale, he is 6-6-1 with a 2.70 goals-against average and .915 save percentage. RW Justin Fontaine (oblique) will make his season debut. LW Zach Parise and C Charlie Coyle have combined for six of the Wild's eight goals. LW Thomas Vanek is a goal from 300. … Coyotes RW Shane Doan has 36 points in 51 career games vs. the Wild. Oliver Ekman-Larsson is developing into one of the top defenseman in the NHL. C Max Tomi, the 12th overall choice in the 2013 draft and a son of former NHL tough guy Tie Domi, scored his first NHL goal last week.
Numbers: The Wild's power play has scored twice in the first two games, but its penalty kill, which ranked first in the NHL last season, has given up three goals.
Injuries: Wild C Tyler Graovac (groin) is out.
