Preview: San Antonio, current fall season leader and owner of an eight-match home unbeaten streak, will attempt to break United's hold on the series. United has not lost to the Scorpions in its past three encounters. The two clubs last met April 12 at Toyota Field, a 2-0 United victory.

United FC at a glance: Minnesota's 2-1 victory last week over Fort Lauderdale, the first in almost a month, helped the Loons (6-1-3) end a slump and extended their home unbeaten streak to 11. United, the spring season titleholder, already has clinched one of the four spots in November's playoffs. Coach Manny Lagos said the team has "gone through some moments where we haven't scored as much as we like,'' adding that "it's important to continue to improve on our offensive movement both in the midfield and up top."

San Antonio at a glance: The Scorpions (7-3-1) are one point ahead of Minnesota in the fall season standings. They trail only the Loons in most goals scored and fewest goals allowed. San Antonio split its past four games, winning two at home and losing two on the road. Lagos said the Scorpions pose a big challenge in a game with postseason implications for playoff seeding.
