United FC gameday

6:30 P.M. at Fort Lauderdale • Ch. 45

Preview: Minnesota United is pushing to host a first-round playoff match but must win the fall season. Three points on the road with just six matches remaining will immensely aid the Loons in reaching their goal.

United FC at a glance: The Loons (7-2-5) settled for a scoreless draw at home last week against New York. Two potential Minnesota goals were overruled by the officials. Minnesota leads the North American Soccer League with 27 goals in the fall season though its 21-league match scoring streak ended last week. An eight-match unbeaten streak, however, remains intact.

Fort Lauderdale at a glance: The Strikers' six-match unbeaten run ended last week, a surge that pushed them to just two points outside the playoff bubble. Successful at pushing forward, the Strikers (5-3-5) scored 16 goals in their past six matches and picked up 14 points in the standings. Stefano Pinho leads the NASL with 12 goals. Victor "PC" Giro will miss the match after picking up two yellow cards and getting ejected last week.
