Gameday preview: Romain Metanire, Chase Gasper questionable for Minnesota United

The Loons' starting outside backs are recovering from injuries, as are Abu Danladi and Jacori Hayes.

Preview

The Loons started last season 0-4 and still made the playoffs for a third consecutive year. They're ahead of that pace after last Saturday's season-opening 1-1 draw at Philadelphia. Nashville SC started its third MLS season with a notable 1-0 victory at perennial Western Conference contenders Seattle. … Nashville defender and Woodbury's own Eric Miller played for the Loons in 2018 and 2019. He is married to former Loons teammate Brent Kallman's sister. … Loons keeper Tyler Miller and Nashville star defender Walker Zimmerman played together in LAFC's first two seasons. ... Veteran forward Teal Bunbury, who grew up in Prior Lake, is in his first season with Nashville after a preseason trade from New England.

Injuries

Loons starting right back Romain Metanire (thigh) did some running on his own at Friday training but likely will miss his second consecutive game. Starting left back Chase Gasper (head) participated fully Friday and took some headers. Both are listed as questionable, as is F Abu Danladi (thigh), who trained Friday as well, and Jacori Hayes (thigh). Nashville lists no injuries.
