Gameday preview: Minnesota United at LA Galaxy

March 16, 2019 at 12:47AM

9:30 p.m. at L.A. Galaxy • FSN Plus, 1500-AM

Heath's attendance uncertain

Preview: United coach Adrian Heath missed training sessions Tuesday and Wednesday in Blaine while he underwent oral surgery and did not accompany the team to Los Angeles on Thursday. His status to coach Saturday night remained uncertain Friday. Assistant coach Mark Watson blew the whistle in Heath's absence during the Blaine sessions. "It's business as usual," Watson said. "… Adrian's not here with his voice, but we continue with the same plan."…United is catching the Galaxy without superstar Zlatan Ibrahimovic (Achilles' tendon) and Romain Alessandrini (hamstring). Ibrahimovic's absence leaves the Galaxy (1-1) without a legit striker after it transferred Ola Kamara to a Chinese team and bought out Gio dos Santos.

Did you know? United's 2-0 start is the first time it has won consecutive MLS road games.

Injuries: United MF Kevin Molino (knee) is out. Galaxy MF Perry Kitchen (ankle), MF Juninho (knee), Ibrahimovic and Alessandrini are not expected to play.
