PLAY OF THE GAME

DÉJÀ VU

Score: Tied 7-7, second quarter, 12:34 remaining. Vikings had first-and-10 from their own 18-yard line.

The play: Adrian Peterson (28) took a handoff from Christian Ponder (7) and, following FB Jerome Felton (42) and RG Geoff Schwartz (76) into the hole, dashed up the middle for an 82-yard scoring run, outrunning Craig Dahl (43) in the process. It was Peterson's second 82-yarder in the past three weeks.

PLAYING SECOND FIDDLE

With Adrian Peterson magnetizing most of the praise, Steven Jackson -- the NFL's active career rushing leader -- had one of his career milestones somewhat overshadowed. Jackson totaled 73 yards on 13 rushes Sunday for the Rams and, on a 9-yard run late in the third quarter, he surpassed the 10,000-yard mark. That feat drew the loudest cheer of the day from the home crowd. At the end of the quarter, several Vikings congratulated Jackson. "When you have your peers give you that respect and acknowledge your accomplishment, it means a lot," Jackson said.

MANO-A-MANO

Vikings PK Blair Walsh vs. Rams PK Greg Zuerlein

WHO WON?

Walsh. He hit from 50, 38, 42, 53 and 51. Fellow rookie Zuerlein -- aka "Legatron" -- missed right from 57 yards on his only attempt.

THE QUOTE

"Even if you know what's coming, you can't stop it."

-- Vikings left tackle Matt Kalil
