Game 2: De Vries returns; Twins don Millers throwbacks

The Twins will try to sweep a day-night doubleheader against the Royals tonight, as Cole De Vries opposes Royals righthander Luke Hochevar in a turn-back-the-clock game.

Thanks to Jason Gonzalez for helping out with our coverage for Game 1 of this doubleheader, a 7-2 victory for the Twins.

Game 2 will be televised on Fox (Ch. 9), and it's turn-back-the-clock time, as the Twins will be wearing Minneapolis Millers throwback uniforms, and the Royals will be wearing Kansas City Blues throwbacks.

Teams can now add a 26th player to their rosters for doubleheaders -- a new rule adopted this year -- and the Twins promoted Cole De Vries to make tonight's start. They'll have to cut somebody after the game, and barring an injury, it very well could be De Vries going back to Class AAA Rochester.

But this is another chance for the Eden Prairie native to perform in front of the hometown fans.

The Royals counter with Luke Hochevar, the No. 1 overall pick from the 2006 draft, who's always up and down. The righthander enters this one with a 16 2/3 consecutive inning scoreless streak, after blanking the Astros and Rays in his previous two starts.
