A former Cretin-Derham Hall weight room supervisor and teacher surrendered to authorities Thursday afternoon and made her first court appearance Friday on charges of criminal sexual conduct with a teenage student.

Gail E. Gagne, 27, of Bloomington, turned herself in at the Hennepin County jail about 3:30 p.m. Thursday and was released on $50,000 bail four hours later, according to jail records.

Alongside her attorney, Earl Gray, Gagne appeared Friday afternoon in Hennepin County District Court, dressed in a white blouse and dark slacks. She and Gray declined to comment following the appearance. A second appearance is scheduled for Dec. 30.

District Court Judge Thomas Sipkins ordered that Gagne have no contact with the teenager. Gray said last week she will plead not guilty and go to trial on the charges.

Gagne, the granddaughter of former professional wrestler Verne Gagne and the daughter of former professional wrestler Greg Gagne, was charged last week with two counts of third-degree criminal sexual conduct for the alleged incidents, with a then-16-year-old student, in 2008.

According to charges, the male student, who worked under her supervision in the weight room of the St. Paul school, said Gagne took him to her Bloomington home and had oral sex with him. Later, she took him to a hotel near the Mall of America, where the two spent the night and had sex, the complaint said. Police began investigating the incident when they were called to the school in May.
