Gophers recruit and Cretin-Derham Hall senior Daniel Oturu will play for the World Select team in the Nike Hoop Summit next week.

Oturu, a 6-10 center, will represent Nigeria and play against Team USA on April 13 at Moda Arena in Portland. The 11th annual event features the top U.S. high school seniors competing against the best international players. Oturu's parents, Francis and Deborah, are both from Nigeria.

"I just give all the glory to God for the blessings he's continued to place upon my family and I," Oturu said Tuesday. "It's truly an honor. It'll be great to compete on a big stage like that."

Apple Valley senior point guard Tre Jones, a former Howard Pulley AAU teammate of Oturu's, will play for Team USA.
