Funnel Cloud near Denver Forced Evacuation at Coors Field

Rockies fans at Coors Field were briefly evacuated from the stands to theconcourse Sunday as a funnel cloud was spotted over downtown Denver.Fortunately, the funnel cloud did not touch down to the ground, so it was not atornado.

Damaging storms have been erupting over eastern parts of Colorado and thebalance of the High Plains for the past several days as a stalled front liesacross the area. Sunday, there was a total of 11 tornado reports in Wyoming,South Dakota, Nebraska, and Kansas. Hail up to the size of softballs fell inthe strongest storms, while winds gusted past 65 mph.
