Since 2008, the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development has doled out nearly $7 billion to local governments throughout the U.S. to help buy, rehab or raze vacant and foreclosed properties. Here's what the Twin Cities have received:

Minneapolis

NSP1 (2008) $14 million

NSP2 (2009) $15.4 million

NSP3 (2010) $2.6 million

Total $32 million

St. Paul
