The Twin Cities has been very, very good for fun., frontman Nate Ruess told the faithful Wednesday at Roy Wilkins Auditorium.

Every time the New York trio comes to the Twin Cities, it enjoys a "biggest," Ruess said. See, last April at the Myth nightclub, fun. played to what was then its biggest club crowd. Wednesday's turnout of 5,559 at Wilkins was the biggest medium-sized venue crowd for fun.

As explained in my review, fun. spent five days here rehearsing at Paisley Park and hearing all about Prince and the his Dakota run. Sounds like they never encountered him at Paisley.

The three fun-sters proudly wore Minnesota Wild sweaters for their encore.

Andrew McMahon, frontman of Jack's Mannequin, opened the concert with some emo-y piano pop.

Here is Wednesday's set list:

Out on the Town/One Foot/ All the Pretty Girls/ Why Am I the One/ At Least I'm Not as Sad (As I Used To Be) / All Alone/ It Gets Better/ Barlights/ Carry On/ The Gambler/ What the bleep/ We Are Young/ All Alright ENCORE Some Nights/ Stars

FILE -- A rent deposit slot at an apartment complex in Tucker, Ga., on July 21, 2020. As an eviction crisis has seemed increasingly likely this summer, everyone in the housing market has made the same plea to Washington: Send money — lots of it — that would keep renters in their homes and landlords afloat. It’s too soon to tell how much the immigration crackdown is to blame.
