The Guthrie has announced its season on the big screen. In June, 2009, the theater presented The National Theatre's production of "Phedre" with Helen Mirren in a high-definition broadcast that was seen in the Guthrie's proscenium stage.

"NT Live," which is the UK institution's broadcast program, will return with six screenings at the Guthrie.

On Nov. 6, Simon McBurney's Complicite Theatre Company will be represented with "A Disappearing Number." It is about the collaboration between two mathematicians, Srinivasa Ramanujan of Madras, India, and G.H. Hardy of Cambridge University.

On Jan. 20, Nicholas Hytner's production of "Hamlet" will be broadcast. Hytner is artistic director of the National and his staging features British actor Rory Kinnear (who played Laertes in Trevor Nunn's "Hamlet").

The Tony-winning musical "FELA!" will be shown on Jan. 27. Sahr Ngaujah plays Fela Anikulpao-Kuti in the Bill T. Jones production. The Broadway staging opens at the National in early November. Jones won the Tony for choreography in this look at Fela Kuti's life as music artist and political activist.

Derek Jacobi plays the title role in Michael Grandage's production of "King Lear," to be broadcast Feb. 21. Nuff said.

Danny Boyle's production of "Frankenstein," a take on the old monster by playwright Nick Dear, will air on April 3. Boyle (Oscar winner for "Slumdog Millionaire") returns to his theater roots with his production within the National's season.

Finally, in the heat of next summer (yes, wait for it) on July 18, the NT Live series concludes with "The Cherry Orchard." Howard Davies directs the Chekhov masterpiece with British-American actor Zoë Wanamaker ("Harry Potter") starring as Madame Ranevskaya.

Single tickets for all the Guthrie screenings $20, or $15 to season ticket holders, students, seniors and groups. Tickets are now on sale through the Guthrie Box Office at 612.377.2224, toll-free 877.44.STAGE, 612.225.6244 (Group Sales) and online.

As an eviction crisis has seemed increasingly likely this summer, everyone in the housing market has made the same plea to Washington: Send money — lots of it — that would keep renters in their homes and landlords afloat.
