GAME RECAP

IMPACT PLAYER

Phil Hughes, Twins

A shaky first inning was followed by five excellent innings in the veteran righthander's first start after missing most of 2016 because of injury.

BY THE NUMBERS

11 Strikeouts in four games for Byron Buxton, who went 0-for-4 with four whiffs against the White Sox.

2 Outstanding first-inning catches in deep center field for Buxton, whose defense helped hold Chicago to only one run off Hughes.

6 Outs for Tyler Duffey, the starter-turned-reliever who mowed through the White Sox with relative ease in the seventh and eighth innings.

ON DECK

Adalberto Mejia, who made one appearance for the Twins last year after coming over from San Francisco for Eduardo Nunez, makes his first career major league start.
