St. Paul Johnson completed the state badminton triple crown on Friday by claiming individual titles in singles and doubles.

One day after winning the team title, Song Yang and Stacy Yang and Phoo Phyo won the singles and doubles titles, respectively.

The Governors became the fourth team to win the triple crown. The Governors also pulled off the feat in 2013 and 2018. St. Paul Harding did it in 2006.

Song Yang entered the individual tournament as the No. 1 seed. She defeated HaNeul Jeong-McDonell of St. Paul Highland Park 24-22, 21-8 in the championship match. St. Paul Como Park's Nag Poe defeated St. Paul Humboldt's Lay Lay 25-23, 21-12 in the third-place match.

Stacy Yang and Phyo were the top seed in the doubles tournament. They defeated Allisia Lemmons and Hay Blu Day of Harding 21-17, 15-21, 21-13 in the championship match. Burnsville's Corrina Benson and Abby Briese defeated St. Paul Washington's Brianna Yang and Seng Hang 18-21, 23-21, 21-19 in the third-place match.

Baseball

Howard Lake-Waverly-Winsted 13, Holy Family 11 (9): The ninth-seeded Lakers rallied from a 10-1 deficit to defeat the host sixth-seeded Fire in nine innings in an elimination game of Class 2A, Section 5. The Lakers scored four runs in each of the sixth and seventh innings to force extra innings. Noah Bush hit an inside-the-park grand slam, Bennett Anderson had five hits and three runs scored, Colton Long had three hits, four RBI and one run scored for the Lakers. Greg Stoffel had two hits, two RBI, two stolen bases and one run scored and Tien Foudray had one hit, two RBI, two stolen bases and one run scored for the Fire.

St. Croix Prep 8, Nova Classical 7: The second-seeded Lions scored two runs in the bottom of the seventh inning to get the walk-off victory over the fourth-seeded Knights in an elimination game in Class 2A, Section 4. Addison Metcalf had two hits, three stolen bases and three runs scored, Sam Johnson had one hit and two RBI and Connor Korba had one hit and two runs scored for the Lions. Daniel Krizan had three hits, one RBI and two runs scored, Alex Ehlebracht had two hits, one RBI and one run scored and Armen Meketarian had one hit and two RBI for the Knights.

Concordia Academy 3, Minnehaha Academy 1: Josh Kirchhoff struck out 15 in seven innings pitched to lead the fifth-seeded Beacons past the sixth-seeded Redhawks in an elimination game of Class 2A, Section 4. Brendan Lynse had two hits and one run scored for the Beacons. Nick Parten had two hits and Caiden Moore had seven strikeouts in four innings for the Redhawks.

Minnetonka 3, Prior Lake 2: Zach Zaetta had three hits and one RBI and got the save to lead the fourth-seeded Skippers past the seventh-seeded Lakers in the winners' bracket final of Class 4A, Section 2. Josh Daniel had two hits and one RBI and Fritz Meyer had four strikeouts in five innings to get the win for the Skippers. Harry Fleek had two hits and one RBI for the Lakers.

Shakopee 4, Edina 1: John Sullivan had two hits, including a triple, and one RBI to lead the fifth-seeded Sabers past the host third-seeded Hornets in an elimination game of Class 4A, Section 2. Joe Roder hit a solo home run and Vinny Schleper had one hit and two RBI for the Sabers. Roy Rosenstein had two hits and one run scored for the Hornets.

Softball

Centennial 1, Maple Grove 0 (9): Emma Hopkins drove in Maisy Dockendorf in the bottom of the ninth inning to give the top-seeded Cougars a walk-off victory over the second-seeded Crimson in the winners' bracket final of Class 4A, Section 5. Helene Krage struck out eight in nine innings and Adrianna Thomas had two hits for the Cougars. Sydney Hockett had two hits and one stolen base and Isabella Daniels struck out four in 8⅓ innings for the Crimson.

Spring Lake Park 8, Irondale 5: Briana Nusbaum had two hits, two RBI, two stolen bases and two runs scored to lead the third-seeded Panther s past the visiting fifth-seeded Knights in an elimination game in Class 4A, Section 5. Jenna Nusbaum had two hits, one RBI and one run scored, Audrey Benderski had two hits and two RBI and Larissa Snyder had two hits and two runs scored for the Panthers. Allison Foldesi and Peyton Corbin had two hits, one RBI and one run scored each, Ella Harris had one hit and two runs scored and Jalyn Wolle had one hit and two RBI for the Knights.

Bloomington Kennedy 3, Visitation 2: Ava Morabito scored on a wild pitch to give the third-seeded Eagles the walk-off victory over the fourth-seeded Blazers in and elimination game of Class 3A, Section 3. Mary Hajduk struck out two in two perfect innings of relief to get the win and Ellie Baker had two hits and one run scored for the Eagles. Isabella Griffin had one hit and two RBI at the plate and four strikeouts in six innings and Jaclyn Young had two hits and one run scored for the Blazers.

Hastings 6, Eagan 4: The fifth-seeded Raiders scored six unanswered runs to defeat the seventh-seeded Wildcats in an elimination game of Class 4A, Section 3. Lauren Jenkins had three hits and three RBI, Kendal Jenkins had two hits, one RBI and two runs scored, Olivia Mattson had one hit and two runs scored, Alissa Johnson had two hits and Hailey Hoff had seven strikeouts in seven innings for the Raiders. Gabby Bierly had one hit and two runs scored and Addison Goihl had two hits for the Wildcats.
