Joe Hankinson knocked a rebound into the net with 2 minutes, 57 seconds left in overtime to give Class 2A, No. 10 Holy Family a 4-3 victory over visiting Class 2A, No. 3 Grand Rapids on Friday.
Brady Ziemer tied the score with a 5-on-3 power-play goal with 11:12 left in the third period for Holy Family.
The Thunderhawks scored a pair of goals, including Micah Miller's second of the game, in the second period to take a 3-2 lead into the third.
Joe Simon and Nick Michel also scored for Holy Family. Miller scored a shorthanded goal in the first period for Grand Rapids.
Girls' hockey
Hill-Murray 3, Mahtomedi 1: The Class 2A, No. 5 Pioneers scored three goals in a 7:38 span in the second period to defeat the host Zephyrs. Alli Clark, Erica Steigauf and Abigail Boreen scored for the Pioneers. Anna Broten scored for the Zephys with 31 seconds left in the first period. Johanna Ficcadenti stopped 27 shots for the Zephyrs.
Forest Lake 2, Andover 0: Maddie Kolbow scored a second-period goal to lead the Class 2A, No. 11 Rangers past the host Huskies. Kenzie Rugland sealed the victory with an empty-net goal with 1:02 left. Josie Bothun stopped 21 shots for the shutout for the Rangers.
Eagan 2, Shakopee 2 (OT): Taylor Anderson scored her second goal of the game with 4:35 left in the third period on the power play to send the game to overtime for the Class 2A, No. 16 Wildcats. Anderson got the Wildcats on the board 3:40 into the game with a shorthanded goal. Sophie Stoffers and Lauryn McNeil scored second period goals for the host Class 2A, No. 19 Sabers. Camryn Noess stopped 32 shots for the Sabers and Ashley Larson stopped 29 for the Wildcats.
Boys' basketball
Minnetonka 71, Chanhassen 69: Matt Haas scored with 1.2 seconds left to give the visiting Skippers the victory over the Storm. He finished with 12 points. Burt Hedstrom led the Skipers with 25 points and Isaiah Carver-Bagley had 16. Austin Carter led the Storm with 20 points. Drake Weisman had 13 points and Chris Wandling had 11 for the Storm.
