Michigan State took a three-goal lead early in the third period and held on to edge No. 5 North Dakota 4-3 on Friday night at the Ralph Engel­stad Arena in Grand Forks.

Defenseman Jerad Rosburg had two goals and an assist for the Spartans (4-6).

Joe Cox of Michigan State got the winner at 2 minutes, 35 seconds of the third on a power play, and Ed Minney stopped 30 shots. Tyson Jost scored twice for UND (7-5-2) in the middle of the third.

Wisconsin 2, Colorado College 1: Will Johnson and Grant Besse, a former Benilde-St. Margaret's star, scored second-period goals to lead the visiting Badgers (7-4) over the Tigers (3-8). Goalie Jack Berry had 11 saves for Wisconsin, Alex Leclerc 31 for CC.

Lake Superior State 3, Michigan 1: Luke Morgan's goal with 2:57 left broke a 1-all tie as the Lakers (7-6) beat the host Wolverines (5-5-1). Tony Calderone had a power-play goal for Michigan.

Princeton 4, Bemidji State 1: Ryan Kuffner scored the first and final goals of the game as the visiting Tigers (1-6-1) upset the No. 10 Beavers (11-3-1). Brendan Harms had a power-play goal for Bemidji State at 12:39 of the third period to get the Beavers within 2-1. Michael Bitzer had 23 saves for Bemidji State, which had been 7-0-1 in its past eight games.
