• BOSTON COLLEGE 6, MICHIGAN STATE 4: Miles Wood scored the tiebreaking goal with 1 minute, 54 seconds to play, Colin White and Ryan Fitzgerald each scored twice and the No. 2 Eagles (8-1) defeated the visiting Spartans (4-4-1) on Friday night. Fitzgerald made it 6-4 with an empty-netter. Michigan State's Mason Appleton tied the score at 4-4 with 5:45 left. Jake Hildebrand kept the Spartans close with 30 saves.

• OHIO STATE 4, CANISIUS 1: Matthew Weis' goal early in the second period was the winner for the Buckeyes (2-7) against the Golden Griffins (2-6) in Columbus. Ohio State outshot Canisius 46-30.

• PENN STATE 8, SACRED HEART 2: David Goodwin had two goals to lead the Nittany Lions (5-2-2) over the visiting Pioneers (5-4-1).

• MICHIGAN 7, NIAGARA 3: Kyle Connor's two goals in the first 11 minutes got the No. 12 Wolverines (5-1-1) off to a good start against the Purple Eagles (0-6-2) in Ann Arbor.

• NORTH DAKOTA 6, MIAMI (OHIO) 2: Linemates Nick Schmaltz and Brock Boeser each had one goal and three assists for No. 3 UND (8-1-2, 3-0 NCHC) in a home rout over the No. 17 RedHawks (5-5-1, 2-3). UND led 5-0 after two periods. Paul LaDue, Boeser and Bryn Chyzyk scored goals in the opening period.

• ST. CLOUD STATE 5, WESTERN MICHIGAN 2: Jimmy Murray scored two goals as the No. 9 Huskies (7-2, 3-0) beat the host Broncos (4-5-1, 2-3). Joey Benik got the first of four third-period Huskies goals on a power play.

• DENVER 3, MINNESOTA DULUTH 0: The No. 8 Pioneers (6-3, 3-0) beat the No. 13 Bulldogs (3-5-2, 0-3) behind Jarid Lukosevicius' two power-play goals.

• ALASKA 4, BEMIDJI STATE 3: Josh Erickson's shorthanded goal early in the third period broke a tie and sent the visiting Nanooks (4-5, 2-3) over the Beavers (1-5-2, 0-4-1).
