We're trying to give LeBron James a chance. We love watching him play basketball. We think he can be an engaging personality. We think his insurance commercial from a while back is still one of the funniest athlete commercials of recent vintage. He looks natural there. At ease. Having fun. But we just don't think we're ever going to like LeBron on the Heat. We're pretty sure it was one of the biggest PR blunders in free agency a player has ever made. He turned 80 percent love into 80 percent hate. And we think he's feeling the sting of that. And he's trying to dig out from that hole. And every time he opens his mouth to try to explain something about his situation, he's only making it worse.

From ESPN.com:

James said Thursday he can relate to why many fans, especially from his home state, continue to be angry at him. But he also said people upset with his decision to sign with the Heat need to move on.

"If I was a fan and I was on the outside looking in, I could be upset a little bit if one of my favorite players left," James said. "Or if I felt like he betrayed us or whatever the case may be. But you have to get over it."

We're pretty sure it was that quote that caused our pal MC Creme Fraiche to send us an out-of-the-blue and hardly complimentary text about LeBron James -- though he does that from time to time, as do other friends of ours.

LeBron needs to accept that there were consequences of his decision. He's the one who needs to get over it.
