Free outdoor concert and fireworks on the 4th of July

Mystic Lake offers a free concert and fireworks on the 4th featuring the Oak Ridge Boys.

Mystic Lake Casino is offering the only FREE Twin Cities outdoor concert on the 4th of July, says spokeswoman Sarah Shamla. (If you know of any other free concerts on the 4th, please comment.).

Rain or shine, the concert takes place in the parking lot next to the Meadows at Mystic Lake Casino. It's a first for Mystic--a free concert and free fireworks. Some seating is available, but bring your own lawn chairs and blankets.

It's an alcohol-free event. Coolers are not allowed, but food and alcohol-free drinks will be available for purchase. the concert area opens at 6 p.m. Minnesota's own country-rock band Rocket Club starts the party at 7 p.m. and the Oak Ridge Boys will play from about 8:30 to 10 p.m. The fireworks start shortly after that.
