Several emails came in today with links to some cool tracks:

(The Minnesota Star Tribune)

*First and foremost (at least for local fans) is "Violet!," the first single off Jeremy Messersmith's highly anticipated new album, "The Reluctant Graveyard," due next month with a May 7 party at the Cedar. At his SXSW showcase, Jeremy described the new album as being "all about dying and graveyards... so it's going to be a huge hit!" Hardly gloomy Bauhaus-ian stuff, though, this track clearly shows the heavy Beatlization we've been hearing at his shows (that's a real word, btw, look it up). Really a lovely track. Click here to hear it.

*Band of Horses also issued the first track from their new one. The album (their third) is called "Infinite Arms" and is due May 18. The song is named after one of my favorite pre-mass-killing Texas border towns, "Laredo," and it's available to download along with a bonus track to anyone who pre-orders the bulky $99 deluxe edition of the record. Or you can save a few bucks and just listen to it here (click song title to the right).

*Beach House is streaming two of the tracks featured on its Record Store Day 12-inch, on sale Saturday as a limited-edition exclusively participating RSD stores. Click here to hear the new track "Arrangement," or you can also hear the UK edit of "Zebra" here.

*Another Record Store Day exclusive, Widespread Panic is issuing a 45-rpm single featuring the songs "North" (click here) and "Dirty Side Down."

Look for a full rundown of all the local haps for Record Store Day (Saturday) in Friday's local music column, or do your own digging here.
