Free: Julianna Barwick at Walker Art Center

Vocalist and electronic composer to perform free on March 8.

Ethereal vocalist and soundscape artist Julianna Barwick will perform free at Walker Art Center on Thursday, March 8. Barwick has released albums for Asthmatic Kitty records, and in January she toured Australia, including a showcase at Melbourne's Sugar Mountain festival, along with such acts as Tune-Yards, Deerhoof and Shabazz Palaces. She will perform three times on March 8, at 6, 7 and 8 p.m.

Barwick is the first of three musical acts booked into Walker's Perlman Gallery as part of an in-gallery music series called Sound Horizon. The other performers will be guitarist Elliot Sharp (April 5) and sax player Colin Stetson (May 10), who has played with Arcade Fire, Bon Iver, Laurie Anderson and others.
